Nach Jahren experimenteller und aktiver Studioarbeit erblickt das erste Album “No Sound” von Ironfeld das Licht der Welt. Unzweifelhaft ein langer Weg liegt hinter Frank Rösch und Patrick Tepin, die sich schon vor mehr als 10 Jahren kennenlernten, und deren musikalisches Talent trotz bisher fehlender Veröffentlichungen eine mittlerweile große, regionale Fangemeinde entstehen ließ.

Die herausragenden Songschreiberqualitäten von Patrick, gepaart mit der einzigartigen, eindringlichen Stimme von Frank und einer rein elektronischen Instrumentierung lassen schon vermuten, was musikalisch das Gebot der Stunde bzw. von Ironfeld ist: reinrassiger Synthpop mit klar erkennbarem Wave-Einschlag, wie wir ihn kennen von Bands wie Camoufage, Covenant oder auch New Order oder Depeche Mode zur Violator-Zeit. Und trotz aller Vergleiche und evtl. auch Parallelen schaffen es Ironfeld, ihren eigenen Sound zu entwickeln. Eingängige Melodien, tragende Harmonien, nicht selten in Moll, und die perfekt integrierten mehrstimmigen Vocals auf einer immer rhythmus-dominierten Basis machen Ironfeld zu Ironfeld, und nicht nur zu einer Kopie der oben aufgeführten Bands.

“80`s never die!” heißt es immer wieder, und das ist gut so. So lange es Bands wie Ironfeld schaffen, das wahrscheinlich innovativste Jahrzehnt der Popmusikgeschichte am Leben zu halten, und mit ihrer eigenen Interpretation neues Leben einzuhauchen, ist dieser Sound auch in den 2020ern noch aktuell und fndet nach wie vor Fans in allen Altergruppen.
